Baby J was just 5 days old when these photos were taken. She’s the youngest baby I’ve ever seen and she was just precious. Baby J was so sleepy that she only opened her eyes for one second the entire time I visited. It must be all that screaming and crying she’s been doing at night. I’m always amazed at the love and stamina of new parents…there’s just no other explanation for what they go through.

Miss M. at 18 months

I had the pleasure of hanging out with my friend Q. and her little girl Miss M. Watching Miss M. transform from a newborn to the little lady she is now has been quite amazing and when Miss M. came up to me and gave me a hug, I asked if I could keep her and pass her off as my own. She’s just too adorable!

Since all of our previous shots were taken indoor (see Miss M, A Little Lamb, Miss M. Turned 1, and Asian Princess), we decided to try some outdoor photos at a nearby park. Here are some of my favorites:

Capone

Whenever I used to make an angry or pouty face as a child, my grandfather would say in a teasing voice, “Don’t make that Al Capone face. Show me a Marilyn Monroe face instead.” Well, if he could only see this Capone face, maybe he would feel differently.

Chloe & Sophie

My friend Q. has two cute Pomeranian-Maltese mix girls, Chloe and Sophie. They’re all white, like my dogs, and tiny, not like my dogs. When I first met them, I nicknamed them the Mini Fluffy Puppies. At Q’s baby shower, we did a quick photo shoot of Chloe and Sophie, who had just been groomed. They weren’t so fluffy this time around, having just gotten back from the salon.

Chloe is such a ham and loves to pose for photographs. Sophie is shy with people and with cameras.

I have a soft spot for Sophie even though Chloe steals the spotlight.

Q.’s Baby Bump

Q. is the first of my friends to have a baby. I went to her baby shower last week at her mom’s house and had a great time. Baby presents are so cute!

After the shower, we did a very quick shoot of her baby bump in her old room. We only had about 10 minutes for the shoot and I have never photographed a baby bump before, but it was a fun new experience. I can’t wait to meet her little girl in February/March and take baby photos!

Pepper

Andrew’s parents adopted a dog last Christmas and named him Pepper. I think that’s a pretty appropriate name. Pepper was completely fascinated by something in the rosemary bush.

Golfing

Andrew’s parents live in a country club setting, so it’s natural that his nephew A. is learning to play golf. He certainly looked like a pro out there.
