If you’re from San Francisco, home of Ritual and Blue Bottle and now Four Barrel, traveling can be tough. Where will you ever find good coffee? Luckily, Teresa and Doug had great recommendations in Los Angeles, and we tried all three of them.
Of the three, Intelligentsia stood out for its great coffee, cool decor and hippie atmosphere. Andrew especially liked how you wait in one line until your barista is ready and then he/she takes you off to the side and makes your coffee right there in front of you. Our barista could have been a transplant from the Mission given his hipster cool look. It’s very fitting given that the owners of Intelligentsia learned their trade at our very own Ritual.
