This past weekend, Denise and I had the pleasure of shooting our first wedding. Lech and Drea were married on April 3, 2010 at Ice Lakes Lodge near Tahoe in a beautiful white ceremony. Their family and friends gathered together to celebrate with them and the hard-core group braved blizzard-like conditions to attend the outdoor ceremony in 30 degree weather. The wedding was a wonderful representation of these two extremely laid-back and kind people, from the bouquets made mainly of native flowers (Lech is a nature conservationist) to the cowboy boots the bride and her bridesmaids wore, this was the kind of wedding that had “fun” written all over it. In fact, I heard Drea say to Lech as they were leaving the ceremony, “That was so much fun!”
Drea’s dress was handmade using materials from her mother’s dress. The cowboy boots were all Drea, though!
Isn’t she adorable?
Drea’s mom and her friend Michelle put together the beautiful bouquets.
Lech and Drea are so outdoorsy and adventurous. They hike (really hard trails), rock climb (not in a gym), and they even skied into their own wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, as they walked back towards the warm lodge, Lech and Drea paused to remark on how much fun they had.
The reception included some very healthy foods but Roxy, the ringbearer, had eyes only for the steak.
And, of course, no wedding would be complete without a first dance and some delicious wedding cake.
